WHY ALPACA SOCKS?

KORPI, LONG ALPACA SOCK

Ultimate Over-the-Calf performance, Korpi long wool sock with full shin protection is your go-to for frozen lake ice skating, demanding hunting trips and long days on the slopes. Whether you’re locked into ski boots or trekking through deep snow, this sock is built for environments where your legs and feet are put to the test.

Made with insulating alpaca fiber, these warm socks offer a rare combination of heavy-duty protection and high-level breathability. The strategic cushioning shields your shins from boot pressure, while the natural moisture wicking properties of alpaca wool keep your skin dry and blister-free, even during intense movement.

Odour-resistant and itch-free, it provides total warmth from toe to knee without the bulk. No overheating, no slipping – just pure comfort for the serious winter adventurer and the "vilukissa" alike who wants to stay warm all day long.

Frequently asked questions

Will my alpaca socks shrink when washed?

No they will not if you treat them right. Our alpaca socks are not pre-washed, so they may shrink slightly if washed incorrectly. We recommend washing them on a gentle wool cycle at 30 °C and letting them air dry flat.

NO tumble drying or high spin cycles, which can stress the fibers. If you wash them at 40 °C with regular laundry (which we don’t recommend), expect about one full EU size of shrinkage.

Is alpaca better than merino wool?

In nearly every core function of wool, alpaca out performs merino. It contains more microscopic air pockets within each fiber, which improves insulation without added weight. Compared to merino, alpaca wicks moisture more efficiently and absorbs significantly less water, meaning it dries faster and keeps you feeling dry during activity. It also naturally resists odours and is hypoallergenic – alpaca contains no lanolin, so it’s safe for those with wool sensitivity or allergies.

And because alpacas tread lightly – both literally and ecologically – their fiber is among the most sustainable on the planet: low water use, low impact grazing, and no harsh chemical treatments.

Unlike merino sheep, which are farm animals, alpacas are native to their environment and live in balance with the Andean ecosystem.

Can I return alpaca socks if they don’t feel right after wearing them?

Yes. We want you to love your alpaca socks – and we know the perfect fit takes wearing them. That’s why we accept returns even if you’ve tested them, as long as they’re still in good condition.

Alpaca socks naturally mold to your feet, but if something feels off, don’t worry. You’ll find return instructions and full policy here.

No stress – just comfort.

My size is between two options – which one should I choose?

Go with the smaller size. Alpaca socks naturally mold to your feet over time, giving you a snug and secure fit. If the sock is too large, the heel may sit loose or bunch up – and that’s no good whether you’re walking, working, or exploring outdoors.

We recommend measuring your foot length and comparing it with our size chart to find the best fit. A well-fitted sock performs better, lasts longer, and simply feels right.

"Really soft and comfortable terry sole in the sock. I’ve even used them during summer – I tend to get cold feet, and they’ve worked great."
